Find your celebrity height twin

What is a celebrity height twin?

Your celebrity height twin is a famous person who is exactly as tall as you. It's the quickest way to picture your own height: "5′ 9″" is just a number, but "the same height as Tom Holland" or "as tall as Taylor Swift" is something you can see. The height twin finder searches 1,240+ actors, singers, athletes, creators and world leaders and shows everyone listed at your height, then the people just above and just below.

How to find your height twin

1. Measure yourself with your phone camera - tap the measure button and aim at your feet, then the top of your head - or type your height as 5'9, 5 9 or 175.
2. See your exact matches: celebrities listed within about a centimetre of you.
3. Look at the near misses: the stars who are a little taller and a little shorter, so you know who you'd look up to and who you'd look down on.
4. Open any name for their full height page, or put yourself next to them on the height comparison chart.

Which celebrities are my height?

Almost every height between 5′ 0″ and 6′ 4″ has celebrity twins, because famous people cover the whole range. Popular heights like 5′ 7″, 5′ 9″ and 5′ 10″ have dozens each. Browse them all with the "Celebrities by height" links on this page - each height has its own page listing every man and woman at that height, plus how common the height is.

A few examples show how varied a single height can be. At the same listed height you'll often find a footballer, a pop star, a politician and an Oscar-winning actor side by side - people you'd never picture together until you see they're exactly the same height.

Why celebrities look taller (or shorter) than they are

If your height twin surprises you, you're not alone. Screen height is not real height:

• Camera angles: shooting from slightly below makes an actor look taller, and co-stars are often placed on boxes or in shallow trenches.
• Shoes: lifts, heels and platform soles routinely add 3-8 cm on red carpets and stages.
• Company: a 5′ 8″ actor surrounded by 5′ 4″ co-stars looks tall; next to a basketball player, anyone looks small.
• Rounding: people round themselves up. A listed "6 foot" is often 5′ 11″ in the morning.

That's why the surprising celebrity heights list is so popular: it's full of stars who are much shorter or taller than audiences assume.

Where the celebrity heights come from

Most heights on CheckMyHeight come from Wikidata, the free database behind Wikipedia, and each celebrity page links to its source. When Wikidata has no height, we use an official measurement (such as a sports combine) or the person's own public statement, and label it as a reported figure. We don't estimate heights from photos. Because listed heights can be a centimetre or two generous, the twin finder treats anyone within about a centimetre of you as an exact match.

Measure yourself first

The finder is only as good as the height you give it. Many people carry around a height from years ago - or a rounded-up one. Measuring with the camera takes about 30 seconds, needs no tape measure, and gives you a real number to match. Measure in the morning and barefoot if you want to be generous to yourself; that's how most celebrities are measured anyway.

Height twins for men and women

Your twins can be any gender: a 5′ 10″ woman shares her height with plenty of leading men, and a 5′ 5″ man with many actresses and models. If you'd rather compare within your own group, the male celebrity heights and female celebrity heights lists are sorted from tallest to shortest. You can also see where your height ranks overall on the average height for men and women page.

More ways to compare height with celebrities

A height twin is the start. To compare height with celebrities in more detail, open the famous height matchups - Tom Holland vs Zendaya, Messi vs Ronaldo, Kevin Hart vs Dwayne Johnson - where each pair is explained with the exact difference and where their eye lines meet. Or browse by category: actors, actresses, singers, athletes, K-Pop and Bollywood each have their own list, sorted from tallest to shortest, with the average height of the group. It's a fun way to see whether you'd be tall for a footballer, average for a pop star or short for a model.
