CheckMyHeight is built so that your measurements and photos stay on your own device. This page explains exactly what happens.
Camera and measurements
When you measure with live AR, the camera feed is processed in your browser to track the phone's position. Video is not sent to our servers and is not recorded.
Photos you add
If you add your own photo to the comparison board, it is cut out by a small model that runs in your browser. The photo is never uploaded and is gone when you close the page.
What we store on your device
- Your height and gender choice, so the comparison board and height twin finder remember you (browser local storage).
- Your best score in the height game.
You can clear these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Services the site loads
- Google Fonts - the Nunito typeface.
- jsDelivr - the 8th Wall AR engine (iPhone live AR) and Google's MediaPipe image tools (photo cut-out).
- Google Cloud Storage - the MediaPipe cut-out model file.
- cdnjs - the QR-code library shown on computers.
- Wikimedia Commons - licensed celebrity photos, where shown.
These providers receive standard web request information (such as your IP address and browser type) when your browser downloads files from them.
Advertising and analytics
We may show ads (for example Google AdSense) and use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are useful. If we do, this policy will list the provider, and where required you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set.
Children
The site is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
